About EricMost politicians would not dare to open up their personal lives for all to see but I choose to show the real me, whose is just like everyone else. Here is my story to get to know me and where I come form: Eric grew up in a variety of neighborhoods as a child starting from Kaimuki and Manoa, all the way to the coast of Waianae and Nanakuli a bunch in between. Being raised in multi-cultural communities has enabled him to relate with a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. Eric has had a diverse range of educational experiences. He has attended 8 different public schools and even a year of homeschooling. He later attended University of Manoa and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in business management. Currently, Eric is the IT/Compliance Officer at Hawaiian Electric Employees Federal Credit Union. In his managerial role he ensures that the Credit Union is in compliance with financial regulations and state laws to maintain the soundness and security of member’s deposits. With this experience, Eric will work towards restoring fiscal responsibility, integrity and accountability through transparency, returning trust back to his constituents for the State of Hawaii. Where other career politicians know the political process, but have lost touch with those in the community, it is for this cause, Eric is ready to represent you to be your voice.
About Eric’s FamilyEric’s father, Dennis Yasuda was a local boy and blue-collar worker who loved the sport of motor-crossed racing. Sadly, he passed away when Eric was only two weeks old. Eric’s mother, Lorna Marshall is of the Welsh-Japanese ancestry; descendant of the Yasuhara family and she was born in the Island of Oahu. As a single-parent mother, she persevered & raised three well-behaved boys. The rewards of parenting produced the fruit of hard work ethics, and a heart of humility that shaped Eric’s character today. Eric is often confused with his identical twin brother, Dennis who is a respiratory therapist and currently resides in California. Dennis like many born here in Hawaii was so frustrated by the imbalance of the State’s political system and high taxes and cost of living decided to leave the Islands in 2007 to become a traveling respiratory therapist. Eric’s older brother, Michael is mentally challenged & continues to be cared for by his mother.

Starting a Family
Eric and Yuri have be married for over 7 years and have been working on having children throughout their marriage but as many
couples have experienced it is not as easy for some as it is others. After a miscarriage in early in their marriage and after moving to Osaka Japan, Yuri unknowing had become a common statistic when she was hospitalized for anemia and told that she had a form of endometriosis called "Adenomyosis". After much discussion and deliberation her Japanese informed us that she would be a candidate for a new type of surgery that would technically scope out the affected lumpy lining of her uterus in order to save it for possible childbirth in the future. The standard procedure is to perform a hysterectomy to remove the entire uterus thus eliminating any chance of having a natural child birth. After healing for over a year it was determined that we could attempt to have Invitro-fertilization to assist us in our attempt to start a family. As many couples before us have experienced before us we tried but were not successful. Due to variety of issues and time fighting against us we look toward completing the necessary steps to become adoptive parents. We have not only taken the Foster Care Pride Training but the required Adoptive Parent Training through Hawaii International Child agency.
